Whether you are a photographer, bird watcher or just enjoy being out in nature our purpose built hide will allow you a unique close encounter with the Kingfishers and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Set on the banks of the River Chess, a rare chalk stream river, you will have an opportunity to observe and appreciate many different inhabitants of the Hertfordshire countryside. The hide will comfortably cater for a maximum of 3 people so please be aware when you book a single slot you may have other occupants in with you. For solo hire please contact us using the online form for a quote. Although there is a very good chance that you will have multiple encounters you are dealing with wild animals and Crestyl Kingfishers cannot offer any refunds if you have any no shows. A member of staff will be available to check you into the hide A lot of time and effort has gone into making this experience as natural as possible for the wildlife. In order to keep it that way and make it possible for you to interact with these amazing birds please read and follow the guidance below. Thank you. • Try not to make any sudden lens movements. Allow the bird to settle and then move very slowly. • Please do not disturb the set up. The birds are used to it and any interference could result in them becoming spooked and not returning • Disturbances should be kept to a minimum please do not move in and out of the hide unless completely necessary. • Please do not damage the netting if you require any adjustments let us know • Noise should to be kept to a minimum for best results. If your camera has a silent shutter mode it is a good idea to use it • When the Kingfisher first visits please let it settle for a few seconds before any shots are fired • Please be considerate to others who are sharing the hide • Do not wander around the property it is private land. Only use the hide and parking area. We hope you enjoy your experience

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances we will be happy to rebook you a slot at your convenience. Please contact us to arrange. Unfortunately refunds cannot be offered for no shows of birds or animals. Customers attend the hide and park on the property at their own risk. Crestyl cannot be held responsible for any damage to people, equipment or vehicles sustained while attending a session. It is advised that you secure your own insurance for personal equipment bought onsite during your session. By booking with us you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.
